Make use of the rainwater this weekend

As more heavy rain is expected in the next couple of days, the emergency team at Cheltenham Borough Council is reminding people to make use of the rainwater.

A useful tip is to put buckets outside to collect the water so that it can then be used for flushing the toilet.

Bottled water for drinking is still available at the five distribution sites, and recycling banks for the plastic bottles are now being installed.  Recycling banks are now at B&Q, North Place car park and Sainsbury’s (Priors Road) and are expected to arrive very shortly at Morrisons and Homebase.

Councillor Rob Garnham, deputy leader for the council said:

With all of the plastic bottles we are using, I urge people to recycle them at the recycling banks.   Also, if people are using supermarket trollies to take the water home, please ensure you help the supermarkets by returning them straight away.
