What a great idea

The BBC Good Neighbour appeal:

Give your time to be a BBC Good Neighbour. In the aftermath of the flood crisis, we’re inviting Gloucestershire people to donate their skills and time to help victims of the disaster.

Cheltenham’s volunteer centre helping with water distribution

The volunteer centre has been at the heart of the town’s efforts to overcome the extreme effects of the floods. More than two hundred volunteers and staff members worked together to deliver bottled water to vulnerable people. They also provided transport for those people needing medical assistance. The support was provided day and night and is still continuing.

Urgent – volunteers required

Despite water being returned to many properties over the next few days there is still the urgent need for volunteers. If you can spare any time to distribute water at one of the five distribution centres then please contact the Volunteers Bureau on 01242 257727.

Volunteering to help at the bottled water locations

Anyone wishing to volunteer to help distribute bottled water at one of the five distribution centres should contact the Volunteer Bureau on 01242 257727.
